First Time Building Gaming Rig - Need Feedback!

Hi there!  This is the first time I'm building my own gaming rig, and I already picked the parts and ordered them, all off of Newegg.com, of course.  I had extensive feedback via other people and forum-goers such as pcgamer.com, tech support forum, and a couple hardware-monkey buddies in my I.T department.  I just found this site from NVIDIA and thought it would be interesting to see what the people on here think of this gaming build I ended up with.  I can't change anything since it's already been charged to my account, but it should be fun, and it'd be helpful for the future to know what I could have done differently!  My initial budget was $1,200, but I ended up a bit over that because I got carried away =P  

The WiFi adapter is there because I live in a rural area that does not have a nearby connection point for cable internet, so wireless is the only internet we can get.

- (NewEgg had a promo code for this that made it the same price as my first choice.  I originally had a 64MB cache, 500GB WD Caviar black.  So I went with the +500GB HD space and -32MB cache.)

Just bought that motherboard and CPU

Loving them both. Tried the OC Genie yesterday and it auto clocked the CPU at 4.2GHz by pressing a button. I have not even messed with the real overclocking stuff. The motherboard can also charge USB stuff with the PC off. Which is really nice.

Hard drive for $10 more the Western digital Black drive is going to perform a decent bit faster.

Cases are kinda personal, so its up to your taste, but this is the case I just used for my new build and it is surprisingly awesome.

I like mechanical keyboards, but as far as cheap keyboards go that one is pretty nice with the backlighting.

Other than that everything looks pretty solid.

Looks like a real good solid rig that you are going to enjoy building and using.and you  have a Win 7 64 bit version coming as well?

really hard to beat the performance / price ratio of the GSkill mem sticks you selected so you should be satisfied with those.

The performance difference between the HDs would be user noticeable as well and your likely to add another HD or SSD a bit later

Your confidence should be pretty good for building your rig after watching that video

.anyhow it may be a good idea to make a '  new rig info build folder ' rounding up the manufacturers manuals and updated drivers utilities  info etc along with some apps like you are likely to instal immediately like Antivirus etc[lots of guys around here use the Avast Free] along with  that Win 7 services tweak guide to pass the time waiting fr shipping

Reading about such awesome builds makes me want to get back into gaming... but priorities first.  oh well.  

Looks like a solid build. Case is totally personal preference, i would have gone a different route but that is a great case. You could definitely save up and swap in an ssd and 4 extra gigs of memory in the coming months/years. The only thing i really would have done is gone with the corsair a70 cooler just because its only 26 dollars after the mail in rebate.

You should definitely post some pics when you get it put together!

Yes, since I work in my college's I.T department, all employees of the college have access to free Windows 7 Home Premium x32 and x64 versions, as well as a bunch of other goodies like Microsoft Office 2007 + 2010

I do also plan on taking pictures of the building process, so I will post some of them on this thread when it's all finished!  Thanks for all the feedback, guys!  Always welcoming more for new viewers of this thread.

I clicked the link on several different occasions (to see if it was just the site being down or something), and every time it tells me the link isn't available.  Is there any other way to find that video?  I'd love to watch it. 

Decoded if you can't read it because of small font - Processor: 7.5; RAM: 7.5; Aero graphics: 7.8; Gaming graphics: 7.8; Primary hard disk: 5.9.  Not too darn shabby!

My friend helped me build this and he is also the one who took the building process pictures.  I took these once I had it up and running at my house, but here it is :D  Thanks everyone.
