K, but I doubt SP1 will brick any systems... I could be wrong though.

My son downloaded it on his rig and everything works fine, but I'm gonna wait a couple of weeks - at least until I've filed my TurboTax!

For convenience  and reference  here are some info and links:

Documentation for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 (KB976932)  details.aspx?FamilyID=61924CEA 83FE 46E9 96D8 027AE59DDC11

Download Details  SP1 details.aspx?FamilyID=c3202ce6 4056 4059 8a1b 3a9b77cdfdda&displaylang=en

Install info and details SP1 learn how to install windows 7 service pack 1 sp1

See the notes :: Estimated amount of free disk space required   Order a disc from MS etc

there's some slipstream info available online at this time for those interested..Seven forums etc

If I would need to do a new install at a later time .I don't think  that is worth the bother for time & efficiency when new retail releases will include SP1 and the current .exe is likely to be much more efficient and reliable.

just a few thought to share

If your windows is up to date as of the 22, the DL is only around 85mb so nothing major.

I downloaded the 2GB SP-1 ISO file and the full 64Bit EXE file too.

Installed it onto a Phenom-II X2 545 Callisto System and it's flawless so far. Upgrade took 23 minutes and two reboots to finish. Tried a few games out, ran a few video crunches and all is good with it.

Tomorrow I'll do the wife's PC and then maybe mine.

Seperately? The ISO has all the exes in it, I just used 7 zip to extract them.

Kinda a set it and forget it move. Had it working in the background while I was doing something 'very important'. (UT3)

I had to download that to arrange our corp testing deploy. so i made a copy and took it home with me. Upgrade was painless @ home 4 minutes to install, then when I click restart another 2 minutes to shutdown them 5 to get back to the login screen so 11 minutes total for me on 2 separate systems 1 Win 7 Home Premium the other Win 7 Professional. No incompatibilities discovered yet.
