manoy385:
add a side fan to intake cool air to the video cards

The CoolerMaster Storm Sniper Case has three 200MM cooling fans in it. One is in front for intake, One is on the top for exhaust, and the third is on the side panel drawing air in.

On mine, I have a Asetek LCLC CPU water cooler mounted on the rear of the case drawing air out of the case. (Asetek makes the H50 and H70 coolers for Corsair)

I added an extra fan to the other side of the radiator, so now it's in a push/pull configuration. This case will cool his configuration with ease.

As to the Power Supply, I will not buy anything except SeaSonic brand. They provide good, clean, reliable power and have a 5 Year Warranty too. They only cost slightly more than other brands, and the extra money spent is worth the investment. Get one that is SLI rated and at least 80+Bronze certified. Remember that when a power supply goes belly-up, it can have catastrophic results, taking out many of the components in your PC at the same time.

Congrats Inspector, I know you've been waiting a very long time for this. You've got yourself a great build going and I know it's going to put a smile on your face everyday.

And thanks Marco for the copy of Metro 2033, I was walking the college campus last night and checked my email from my phone and was surprised that I had won a free copy. Great timing too! I had just finished setting up my new PC and can't wait to try the game out.

I have no doubt the Storm Sniper will cool his system with ease. The reason I recommended the HAF 922 and the CM690 II is because they provide similar or better airflow than the Storm Sniper at a lower cost. The HAF 922 has basically the same fan configuration as the Storm Sniper but is $50 cheaper. The CM 690 II Basic is half the price of the Storm Sniper and has the capacity to hold 10 fans. The money you save can be better spent towards a better cpu heatsink or a bunch of fans.

Ouch, I think the NZXT Lexa Blackline would fit you better...

I'm a big fan of getting the most for the least.  Antec Three Hundred gets my vote.  Cheap, great airflow, it looks great and has been redesigned slightly so what is shown on Antec's site it not correct.

I wonder when they'll finally update that?

Ya i love the design and looks of that case. only thing is i don't like the white too much because it doesn't match anything... and the black looks... too dark, if it had some blue on the sides it would look EPIC!

Inspector:

What do you guys think about this one? suggestions plz!

CPU: i7-950 (299.99)

RAM: CORSAIR XMS3 6GB (3 x 2GB)(124.99)

CPU Cooler: COOLER MASTER Intel Core i7 compatible V8 RR-UV8-XBU1-GP 120mm Rifle CPU Cooler (49.99)

Case: COOLER MASTER HAF X (199.99) ... Ya not so sure if i want to get one this expansive.

Total: $714.95

I would also choose that i7 950 as it's a great processor, and the recent price cuts make it irresistible. Someone here mentioned different RAM with tighter timings, and I would always opt for tighter timings. Those two video cards are going to be dumping a lot of heat into your new case, so make sure it flows a lot of air! Do you already have a power supply for your new build, Inspector?

The Corsair H70 is an improvement over the H50. If you'd rather stick with air Cooler Master's V6GT is a good choice and more efficient than their V8.

For the Metro 2033 game, are we getting Steam codes or a retail/oem game disc?

They asked for us to reply to a PM from Marco with our mailing info, so I guess it's a full boxed game.

The H70 has twice the radiator size? It should cool quite well then.

EDIT: I looked up the H70 and it has two fans for a push/pull effect and the radiator is almost twice as thick as the H50 and my Asetek LCLC. But my LCLC (same as the H50) cools my i7-870 CPU completely and even under benchmark/stress testing loads for long periods of time. I could see the need for the H70 if you were going to radically OC your system, but otherwise it's overkill.

Hey everyone and mega grats Inspector. I apologize for being so scarce I have been hard on the road upgrading computers, registers, scanners (hand and flat bed) for Walmart/Sam's. For now I have been all over Utah, California (mainly the middle of the state), Arkansas, Texas, New Mexico, Texas and am right now back in Arkansas where it all started at. They have decided to have us change to larger trucks as well as teams rather than soloing it in Sprint trucks (imagine a euro cargo truck). The whole thing in many ways has not made a lot of sense to me (in a project sense) as the planning has been severely wanting at least from what I have seen.

Either way enough of my rambling, congrats again Inspector, and I don't know if you have made your hardware choices yet. If not I would suggest looking at the new NZXT cases as I have heard very good things about the as well as know they always keep there case prices great

(http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811146067) the layout in these is awesome. Personally I like the ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103065) as a cooler or of course the Prolimatech Megahalem. I have both, and the 512 with some good fans is just short performance wise of the megahalem, but half the price. Make sure you grab a solid power supply (I don't mean 1200 to 1500 watts) that is made well, the corsair psu units are solid. For memory just grab as high a speed yet compatible with an I7 chip ram as you can up to 1800-2000 max or just short of that. Anything above 2000 is kind of pointless 1800 is a bit high in all reality. Make sure it has something like 6-8,6-8,6-8, 18-20 stepping and a good supporting company and I doubt you will be sorry for it. That would pretty much do it all I could see for an initial build is some cpu paste, and maybe a couple of fans and a HD, and CD drive.

Inspector:
Fat what u talking about?

I had told him in an earlier post that since they were asking for our physical addresses they were probably gonna send full boxed games.

It's what I thought would happen, and then they announced that it was codes at Steam. He may have missed that part.

So I guess I'm spreading mass confusion,............SOS.
