animatortom: Hope everything turns out OK! To bad you are on the east side, I am a really good carpenter! I could even go Mc Guyver on your house and knock that ramp out for ya with probably a few street signs and park benches!
Sounds like you need one of these smartphones so you can stay up to date while in BFE
Yeah, Lots going on. I'm a fair carpenter myself and can build anything that needs to be strong and windproof. Finish carpentry eludes me though.
Funny you should mention park benches, I have three here. The town of Stanley, VA has seen fit to already provide the streetlight too. Ha-Ha!
What we're gonna do soon is to enclose my back deck with some "Suntuf" Polycarbonate wind proof panels to mitigate the effects of the weather. Slow it down a little if you will,....so Darlene and I can use all of the exercise gear that we just put out there throughout the winter months. We can dress warmly and still do exercise if the wind isn't peeling the skin from our faces while we're out there. Although it won't be insulated, we can fire up a little heater if need be too. Maybe I'll post a pic of the deck before we start and one after it's done.
Another kinda funny thing (but not really) is that last night I posted as to our method of saving our cash until we can afford to do the next project because we refuse to pull a loan and remove the money buffer we've built up over the years. We make a little more than we have to spend to survive each month, and we save it as much as possible. Something came up last night after I posted and we may have to use a good portion of our savings (project money) on it. This involves taking back the materials that we just bought over the last few days.
So I guess that my point is, "you can make all of the plans in the world but life has the real control and can change them at will."
As to a smartphone,....they don't work properly where I live,........
Dogs are great judges of character, and if your dog doesn't like somebody being around, you shouldn't trust them.
I am in the process of moving as the next semester of college is about to kick off. Gotta go through the lights and water, inspection process. I will be active again on here you can book that!!!!!!!!

She's a Beauty! Made me realise just how Pathetic the one I was working on really was Kinda like if you push the rusty Yugo out of the Garage, to make room for the Ferrari

"drools" Give me the precious!
That looks sick
Awesome! Love the pics, Hope its servers you for a long time and more animations will pop up for US! :D
Sweet rig! I see they had the asetek cooler on that. I would recommend slapping another fan on that radiator for push/pull. Is that an intake or exhaust? I have the Corsair H50, and they recommend running it as an intake. However, I changed it to an exhaust and saw a 3-4 degree decrease in my temps. Just a tip, probably depends on the case, though

Dang, you did get the computer fast. Congratulations on winning dude, quite a spiffy rig you got now. What really caught my eye was that that computer has a Blu-Ray drive, which is pretty awesome.
?...I think it is great!
It is roughly the same as the 550LC which is the workstation cooler.
Since I use this mainly as a workstation then it makes more sense
Corsair is their partner and so they are roughly the same The Aseteks are also what they put in the HP Z400/Z800 workstations !
Unless it came with an EVGA's Classified SR-2, with two Intel Xeon 5680 Processors...Then It would need one of the dual Asetek coolers like in the Z800.
So I really couldnt ask for a better cooler
animatortom:Corsair is their partner and so they are roughly the same
Asetek manufactures the H50 for Corsair. Their agreement with Corsair precludes them from selling them to the public, but you can buy them from direct marketers for less than the H50 sells for. (they are essentially the same) The push/pull method with an extra, matching fan on the other side of the radiator worked well for me, as did turning them both around so they blow the air out instead of drawing it into the case. I used two matching fans made by Scythe.
I love the case that your computer's in too.
Enjoy your win and let us know the differences in rendering times now.
Congratulations Animator Tom, yes I am extremely jealous! Thanks to the Guru's at HH and the sponsors, for the great contests and the fun/ informative forum. Keep up the good work and the cool contests. I still need some major upgrading and on disability there is no budget to cover upgrades unfortunately. So I will continue to drool and be envious, as I read all the specs and stories of all your uber rigs. They are considerably better than what I have and not good enough for the people who own them. I'm not proud, I'll gladly take any hand me downs! LOL
Good luck to everyone in the new contest, that they come up with next. I'm sure it will be more highly desireable prizes and we will all be very envious of whoever is the lucky geek who wins next! So thanks again to everybody and good luck to all. See you in the forums!
Hot rig, Tom! Congrats again!
