HotHardware and Origin New Year's Sweepstakes! Win A New Rig!To ring in the new year, we announced an exciting sweepstakes, along with our friends at Origin PC and AMD, in which we planned to give away a custom painted, fully loaded AMD TWKR-powered system, complete with 4GB of RAM, an ATI Radeon HD 5970 graphics card, and a Western Digital 1TB Black Edition hard drive--among numerous other goodies.

The response we received after the announcement of the contest and throughout its duration was absolutely fantastic with hundreds of new members joining our community, posting thousands of comments throughout the forum and news. Before we announce the winner, we want to extend a big thank you to everyone that made this contest possible and of course to all of our loyal community members who participated.

Well, we've had a chance to sift through all of the data and we’ve picked a lucky winner.

She's All Yours, Gibbersome!

Are you ready for it? Drum roll please! And the Winner Is...

gibbersome

Congrats brother! You've just scored yourself once heck of a killer rig!

Now everyone, congratulate your compatriot gibbersome and prepare for our next exciting give-away! We've actually got TWO awesome gaming rigs on tap for you all in the coming weeks / months--the giving just never stops around here! Once we've got the details hammered out, we'll announce the next contest, but we promise it won't be long.

Thanks,
Team HotHardware

Hey and now who cares if your laptop craps out, you will have graphics and operation most likely like you've never seen on your desk. I am sure this machine is going to blow your mind when you turn it on. Make sure you get AMD Overdrive 3 it's a must on an AMD system exceptionally this one.

Thank you rapid1!! I have been saving and scrapping to get a new system for the past year, but something always came up. I feel like there's going to be a new baby in the house! I am going to learn everything about this system inside and out.

Just woke up the gf and told her the news....she's having a hard time believing my online addiction actually amounted to anything, lol! But she's very happy for me cuz I really needed this.

Again, getting to know you guys on forum was a prize in itself! It's been an incredible ride. Special word for you, rapid, I enjoyed our discussions and the late-night meanderings! You were right there with me all the way!

I'm going to be sharing the HotHardware good word for a long time to come! I feel incredibly humbled and honored.

Huh, well I'll be...congrats, gibbersome. Someone I mutually know in this community actually won. Unfortunately, I wouldn't have been able to win since I don't live in the US. I wonder what happened to shipping both Canada and USA...they used to have that in their previous sweepstakes.

Maybe the next one, Canadians can participate more as well. But as for me, I'll participate in forums and commenting because I am interested in the site...not because of the prizes that the administrators are dishing out. Of course, what they are doing is generous...and I would accept a great prize if I ever won it...but I'm not going to comment like crazy for the sake of trying to win a prize that has low odds of winning. My commenting should be meaningful, sensible and sometimes quirky instead being gibberish and boring for the sake of  winning a prize. I am all about quality  than quantity. I would prefer to obtain my new PC by earning it with my own skills and abilities since it provides a sense of pride on hard work. In any point, congrats to gibbersome and other participants who were involved in this contest.

Thank you Kyouya! I feel very blessed, lucky and grateful.

BTW, I'm Canadian on my mom's side, spent several years in Southern Ontario growing up. What part of Canada do you hail from?

Gibbers,......You definitely earned it this time and I'm glad it turned out to be you that won this barn-burner of a system. I'm truly happy for you. My wife and I were silently (I didn't want to stuff the ballot box, you know) rooting for you to bring this one home. There was allot of good competition this time around, some of these new guys have allot to say and they're not shy about saying it. Hopefully, they have the bug now and will stay around.

Congratulations Again!

Thanks TheChief, tanka12345, it's amazing, I'm half afraid I'm still asleep and dreaming. I actually took a long nap earlier tonight and dreamt that a user named "GiorgioArmani" won....it was quite upsetting.

Thanks realneil! I still haven't recovered from the shock. I remember scrolling down and reading my name and not believing my eyes. I really appreciate the sentiments from you and your wife (does she have an account here as well?).

Absolutely, great competition and lots of awesome new members. I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone better.

So how long does it take to come down from this high? I feel like I've overdosed on some marijuana mixed with Cialis!
