New iPhone To Have Touch Sensitive Back?

Only a few days after a Korean paper said the new iPhone would be out in April, a Goldman Sachs analyst chimed in on the annual update to the iPhone, saying it would be out in (ta-da) June, when Apple usually release updates to its popular app phone.

Goldman Sachs Group Inc. analyst Robert Chen, fortunately, not talking about credit default swaps or derivatives, so we can try to trust him, said the new iPhone would have a better camera (not much of a stretch of the imagination there) and a touch sensitive case, much like Apple's Mighty Mouse. He added that the phone would go into production in April and be available to consumers in June or July, much as prior models have been.

Of course, people are just now getting really used to touchscreens, so it wil be interesting to see how they react to touchbacks, assuming this is correct? The one problem with this would be that you wouldn't be able to have full cases, covering the back as well. While quite a few eschew cases for the iPhone because they don't want to add buik to the device, quite a few not only have cases, they have cases that add protection to the screen (such as Ivyskin's).

The bigger problem is that the back of the Iphone can get scratched up very easily. Also a case is necessary because the phone won't survive a typical drop from 4 feet.

What would the Touch Sensitive Back be used for anyway?

Here are my thoughts I believe Apple have open a new world, since everything is really touch screen, could you imagine not having a keyboard anymore? Hell, I do. I would not be amazed that in a really near by future we will have touch screen macbook pro and Mac.

I think that windows 7 took that nutch. to be honest I loving the touch screen idea, more interactive and fun to use.

I would just tell the story to my kid about having a crt monitor and keyboard and he will be like Dad that is like stupid. we have touchscreen tv and computers.

Now I know how my parents felt when I was hook up in technology hehehehe and they weren't "OLD"

yeah I could get this you look at the front and use the back while watching kind of a reverse finger mouse. I still kind of wonder about the touch screen laptop stuff. I mean I get it but my reactions are automatically mouse or keyboard.

Hmmm, like a giant Nintendo DS? It could work with reprogrammable keys, which would come in handy during games. A bigger problem would be that with dual screens the battery life will be very poor.

rapid my reactions were the same when i first got my iphone. i mean i was a pro using both hands with the blackberry. then i have re-trainned the brain to use only one hand for the Iphone.

Not skilled enough to use my left hand because my thump is always in the way :)

Well one thing is that a touchscreen would immediately negate the need for a mousepad of any kind, lots of space saved.

I have trouble using the Iphone, I think my thumbs are too big for the puny keyboard. Do you suppose they could make it a little bigger in the 4th generation.

Lol kid007 yeah my brother and sister in-law have them I was considering getting i-phones or droid myself when my upgrade hit's However Sarah's UG date came first and we thought about it and decided to skip it at least at this go round.
