@acarzt Haha, I know what you mean. During the last contest, my girlfriend developed a hatred for HotHardware. I'm officially not allowed to visit HotHardware when we're together (which was almost every moment from Dec 16th - Jan 11th). In fact, any kind of computer activity is heavily frowned upon...

Well were halfway there I wonder who will be the lucky one this time? Either way whoever it is is very lucky in my book, the CPU alone is RARE, but with the total package in this one that winner will be exceptionally lucky.

OS:Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit
MB:ASUS Z87C
CPU:Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 4770 ***
GPU:Geforce GTX 770 4GB

Good luck out there in Haiti Gibbersome. It's pretty awful what happened over there.

Be safe!

OMG, don't forget guys this is an Origins system, backed up by their amazing warranty.

HH did a very recent gaming system preview on Origin: http://hothardware.com/cs/forums/t/46147.aspx

"The company's free labor guarantee extends well beyond simple hardware upgrades. Assume a customer buys an Origin PC with a one year standard warranty. 18 months later (well outside the warranty period), the motherboard in the system dies."

Wow that is pretty awesome.

Hopefully there is a good enough supply of water for you guys. I heard that was a problem over there right now.

There are many problems right now. First being that Haiti's health care system was largely nonexistent before the earthquake, and with the collapse of one of the biggest hospitals in the region, the situation is even worse.

We'll be taking water, food, medications and make-shift shelters with us. The response has already been pretty amazing.

Agreed, I've been saving up for a system for quite a while, only to run into some recent financial trouble which took a chunk out of my savings. This would allow me to retire my laptop...and finally play some games!

It would be awesome to play a game on max details!

The pics don’t do the paint job justice, in person the colors really pop out at you. When we first opened up the box after getting it back from killer we were all very impressed. The lucky winner will have to back me up on it :-)

The first time I saw that case, I thought of my old '57 Chevy. It was Obsidian Black and had red and orange flames painted on the side. I put a huge 6 Cylinder engine from a big truck into it with a Power Glide Transmission. It was fast. Wheeee!

Anyway, this case reminded me of my old Hot Rod.

Haha, didn't a conversation about Hot Rods occur during the last contest as well....

@OriginRichard The close up was great, and yeah, I'd love to see this piece of art in person!

Yes, I liked cars when I was young. The faster, the better. I was lucky to live in Southern California as a kid where there were tons of them around. It was Bitchin'

The most common car in my neighborhood is a Prius. And GM just killed the Pontiac brand. I would love to get my hands on a G8 when I graduate. Plus, they've really cracked down on speeding so it's hard to really have fun with a muscle car anymore.

Well... it kind of has a silver lining. Yea it's not cool to give false hope like that. But at the same time... it did put pressure on AA to do something if they weren't already.

After a rumor like that, that's a bit of a PR mess to come out and say, "Nah we ain't doin that" now they've gotta do SOMETHING to save some face.

From reading the specs that I can find this is my machine after a very long run on steriods with alot of plastic surgery. I was lucky enough to get my hands on one of the orginal quad-core phenom blacks and I love it, execpt for having to run the ac during every season execpt winter. But if this is half the machine that the specs show I would love to play with it but alas disabled=no job= very little $$$. So I will see this machine in my dreams.

Nothing but the best to whoever get this one.

Yeah, sorry Blazer. Shipping and duties/taxes are too costly with something like this. We just didn't want to deal with the hassle. It can be a nightmare getting something this big/heavy/expensive through customs even though it's a "gift" and not for resale. We've been bitten too many times. Maybe we'll do an SFF system next. Ha!

UPDATE: So...they have unceremoniously canceled our aid venture to Haiti...conditions are apparently too dangerous. I don't understand this, especially since we went to the slums of Nicaragua last year and we were fine.

@Dave_HH Yeah, taxes can be a pain in the butt. I sold my GPS on ebay and sent it to someone in Canada. He told me to send it as a gift and say the value is only $20 to save him duties and taxes. Problem was, I couldn't insure the item for what its true worth was. I don't think I'd do it again.

Agreed. This is a very nice machine. I am personally a really big fan of the Creative line of X-Fi sound cards, put that together with the 2g 5970 ATi V-card and you already have a great combo for the user experience. The processor is strong enough for any game or program you throw at it and toss in Windows 7 you have a great user interface. (Finally a Microsoft O/S that actually works right out of the box). Also the paint is a great aesthetic perk.

~ Like the old saying goes, The only thing that's ever really certain; Death & Taxes. But shipping on large, heavy or bulk items is always a pain to deal with too. So I can understand why this contest would be limited to within US boundaries only.

I picked up 2 Dell Servers 5u 115Lbs each from Ebay about a month back, one was shipped from outside of the US. I had to go through a lot of trouble arranging freight shipping for it to Va once it got to the US. (And after it got stuck at some Freight Depot.)

On top of that it's an Origin product. I know that probably doesn't mean much right now, but I think in a few years their name will become synonymous with high quality, great tech support, and incredible warranty.

The processor is the limited edition AMD TWKR, great for overclocking if you're into that kinda thing. And with the 1.2 Kilowatt PSU, I'll have enough juice leftover to attach a blender to my PC...now wouldn't that be interesting!
