Ok so I know I and a few others started on a good overclocking guide. We never really finished and even if we had the new Phenom II and Core i7/i5s have all new challenges so I really wanna rework it. Maybe just start from scratch. I don't have a i7 or a Phenom II. I really don't need one my Q9650 is still kicking strong, but I was wanting some info from you guys that have these CPUs. What programs you use, what clocks you are getting, bios options that have really helped, that sort of thing.
So. . . Fire away ya'll!
My only i7 is the kids' computer - which is being totally monopolized by my son for the CoH free-weekend, so I can't even experiment with it. :) My latest AMD (which is my arcade cabinet/server) is quite a bit pre-Phenom.
So, I'm afraid I don't have any experience to offer with overclocking these - though I'm really interested to see the answers to your questions.
People read the stupidest things. Like this sig, for instance.
I'm sure Dave and Marco can help out in this area, aswell as AMD.
The Older I7 like mine is cakes to OC compared to the LGA 775 socket...
