Does this have anything to do with the technology Larrabee? I'm ashamed to admit this is the first I've heard of this Westmere, but I know that Intel is planning x86 to go GPU with Larrabee. Maybe this chip is part of that progress tech tree.

Yeah I did read this. It will be cool if Intel will bring a new Intel i7 Extreme Edition with 6 core on 1 die with HT Technology (12 cores in totals) My guess it should be 4 GHz or more. We will wait ans see what they offer for high performance desktop system.
