I just walked my non-techie brother-in-law through setting up a wireless router over the phone. The router was given to him with no documentation and was hardcoded to use the same network segment that his DSL modem was using. It took a while to figure out, starting with no passwords for anything..
We got it working, but I could use a drink.
Thankfully, I have four here.
“I have decided that we should not publish these [Windows 95 user interface] extensions. We should wait until we have a way to do a high level of integration that will be harder for likes of Notes, WordPerfect to achieve, and which will give Office a real advantage…. We can't compete with Lotus and WordPerfect/Novell without this.” —Bill Gates, Microsoft founder and then-CEO
Bottom's up! You deserve them!
SPAM-posters beware! ®
Router help would suck, but I have started using crossloop for helping my mom. Saves me hours of time.
