Wooot broke 3 million yesterday.
Congrats!!!!!!!!!
Thanks shooting for the next milestone of 4 million and of course first. Warlord I am coming for ya.
I haven't seen warlord in these here parts for some time now.
Man, how do you fold so fast. I get around 100 points/day. At this rate it'll take me 30 years or so to get to 1 million.
Then again, I'm running it off a laptop. :(
Well I have 3 gpu clients goin and 2 vmware smp clients on one cpu goin. That nets me around 15,000 ppd. The gpu clients are whats doin most of the work units. I have been thinking bout adding another video card but havent figured out which one. Although that pc they are giving away would be a nice addition especially with that 295. That one could run 2 gpu clients off the one card.

It depend on your client. There are 3 types of clients. The basic standard one with the gui, the GPU client, and the SMP client. The smp client runs through a command prompt. You can run one CMP client per core. The GPU clients you can run one per GPU core, which is why he said a 295 would be nice because it is one card with 2 GPU's. The standard client nets you only several hundred per WU.I run just the GPU client and I net around 3k perday. I also have the standard client on my parent's computer, back at home. I personally keep running into trouble (constant errors) with the SMP client.
Thanks for the replies guys. I've been using the regular client. But I do have a 8700 GT on my laptop, I'm hoping that will be good enough for some decent gains.
The 8700gt will work on the gpu client side but I would run GPUZ its a program to watch temps on the video card. (If you havent already heard bout it) I would be very careful and watch the temps on the card for the first day or two cause they can push the heat up on some cards and with that being a laptop I would be very careful with it.
Mental- What errors are you getting with the smp client??
When I tried running it before it would work and then one day it failed. It kept on failing to receive the WU, I believe that was the case. It would say it got it, but it failed to and then it would go in aloop and repeat.
http://foldingforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=10490 Check out that link an download the new smp client. All you have to do after that is drop it in your original smp folder cause it replaces the 6.23 smp client. That could fix your problems. If you have already done this than I will have to research it some more.
Well, here is the error that I was getting before. This is with the new client.
Aight so as I am getting this right. This is the error message you are getting now and you have downloaded the new client excutable from that link. Is this right.
You are correct. Not sure if it matters, but this is 64bit Win7. I get the same error on my laptop. My laptop is running 32bit Vista, which leads me to believe that this is related to a log file. Both of the computers received this error at the same time.
I dont think it matters on the windows 7 64 bit. But let me do some research on this and I will get back to you. It is wierd that it is happening on vista and 7 and givin the same errors. Also are these the deino clients or mpich clients??
Aight The only helpful information I could find was to basically delete the folding folder and redownload the smp client and then go an download that new executable in that link above and then create a shortcut of that excutable and put the tag for the smp at the end and then re run the install and then start the excutable as a adminstrator. I know on vista you have to right click and run as administrator not sure bout windows 7. But I wouldgive that a whirl and see if it doesnt help. Sorry for the delay was tryin to find anything on that error. This is bout the only thing I could find. If this doesnt work let me know and if you need help with the smp tag let me know.
You are a good man, Transam. I will give that a try.
Let me know if it works or not.
Much thanks Transam! I needed to run it as an admin! It works now.
No problem, I am glad you got it working.
