I dont see the point in a laptop this big, but Jen really wants a big laptop. I think she is looking for a bit more gaming power though.
I think if you want an 18 inch notebook that gives you what the HP does and a lot more as to performance get the Sager 9850!

Good point lpcap, but the HDX 18t matches up on every spec except for the video card and it cost about a thousand or more less. So I say if you are not concerned about the video card aspect then the HDX 18t is the way to go. The video card is good enough to play pretty much any game out there now, you just might have to turn the settings to meduim - low if the game is really graphically intense.
Plus right now if you buy it today (6/27/09) there is a coupon code that will give you 30% off the HDX 18t. Here is the code: NB2556. There are usually more coupon codes every week if this one expires before you can use it so google it.
I loved this pc but the battery life is awful I only got about an hour at most out of it. I just recently had it stolen and I am looking for another laptop that is equal to or comparable to this one. Any ideas

Welcome to HotHardware; please be aware when you bump threads that are two years old...
Anyways, if your looking for a laptop; you might want to check out Dell, ASUS, Levono and maybe Acer... Me, I prefer Levono due to the fact that they make the self-proclaimed "best in the world" ThinkPads and their customer service is really, really good... Again, up to you; you can search on the internet for the laptop you like; just be sure to search for those brands first.
