While waiting for my mod fan to come I did the craziest thing(not really) that i told you guys I was to scared to do cause of the consequenses(cant spell)

if done wrong. I Updated My BIOS with no problem!!....I will now try again for the(7th time now?!?!) to reinstall the new cpu and see what happens...Wish me luck!!

Kinda makes sence that the BIOS update was needed cause my BIOS was made 2006 while the CPU was introduced at 2005and maybe give it 1yr for maufacturing and getting the update for the BIOS which this new BIOS came out on 2007.

Here is my chat with Hp customer server: I did step 1 do I need to do step 2 and 3??

Yadira : Step 1: Installing latest BIOS for your Notebook.
Yadira : ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp35001-35500/sp35204.exe
Yadira : Installation instructions:
1. Download the SoftPaq .EXE file to a directory on your hard drive.
2. Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions.
3. Ensure that the AC adapter is connected while updating the BIOS.

Yadira : Step 2: To reinstall Power Management in Windows XP, follow these steps:

1. Click Start, select Control Panel, and then choose Performance and Maintenance.
2. Click the System icon to open the System properties window.
3. Select the Hardware tab and click Device Manager.
4. Click the plus (+) sign next to System Devices.
5. Right-click the ACPI Fixed Features button and select Uninstall.
6. Restart the system.

Yadira : Step 3: Resetting BIOS.
Yadira : 1. Turn on the computer.
2. At the HP Logo Press the F10 key.
3. When the BIOS boots up, press F9 to set up defaults.
4. Make sure the 'Yes' is highlighted and hit enter.
5. Press F10 to save the changes.
6. Make sure the 'Yes' is highlighted and hit enter.
7. The computer should then shut down and reboot. This will reset the BIOS to its default settings.

I hopw this work...will hear for me soon....

Hey, why not? You've painstakingly tried everything else, and this seems to be the very last logical step before doing that fan mod. I really want to see this thing work for you!
