This should bring more eyes onto the WineD3D code, as well as testing from new angles (separate of Wine's re-implementation of all other Windows dlls), which means more and faster improvements for Wine and VirtualBox!

Cool stuff. I have not used VirtualBox in a while. I'll have to give it a try. Does it have 3d acceleration with just windows guests?

At the moment, yes.  But, they already have OpenGL accelleration for Windows guests and have said it will support other OS's in the future.

VirtualBox has been doing some real catching up to VMware.  Being free, it's my first choice for running VMs.
