Great Rig (It beats mine anyday Sad). It'll be interesting to see how those components look inside a Skeleton case.

Good Luck on your build! Smile

How do you like that case. It's quite intresting. What kind of cooling are you using for that i7?

Gonna start out with the inbox Intel heatsink & fan supplied - looks to be sufficient

Skeleton case has some ampel airflow from the top - not gonna clock this thing over to much at first cost is crazy...

not sure about case yet - looks great but the wiring harness was a mess to deal with - P/S cables could of been a little longer and wish they has bracket around back to hold lit backplate but made it work with a little plastic straps lol.. - will start uploading images soon

Very nice system. Is it possible to integrate water cooling with the skeleton case? Since there is so much space to fit tubes though, is there  a space to place a radiator and other parts of water cooling on the bottom portion of the skeleton case?

Not Sure where you would put radiator, maybe on side skirts - they are metal, but under tray is not an option, P/S takes up most of the space, good room for tubing ontop of everything below top fan

Just Cooling Processor & Video Card has own cooler - will monitor temps of CPU, VID, and Memory - not planning on any extreme overclocks at this time - just wanna see what they got to offer at normal for awhile - to spendy to play at this time - maybe next year if they come down - may tinker a little

Virtually the same GPU. I bet in more CPU limiting apps your new rig will crush.

Thanx, I'm sure you right - I remember those day's I suspose it help's to be in the system building business, where we just sell the systems we leave behind so as we can keep the price of upgrades down to a mininum.. but honest this is the first time I have gone all out for the top and not selling nothing - want to keep this new one a gamer forsure - the other runs the business to include web site (which I need to update know that Intel has been so nice to give us another option - lol....

nice. your gpu score is right on par with my 2 saphire 4870"S 1GB. Of course your i7 stomps my 920 but that should be expected for it's price tag. powerfull system you got there.

I think we should battle to see who has the fastest system on HH.  3DMark?

Intel 920 / Rampage II Extreme / Dominator 6GB DDR3-1600 / Gigabyte SuperOC 5870  / Torqx 128GB

Very nice rig you got there bro.

You got what I'm putting together on raw graphics/CPU power (4870 1GB/i7 920), but I think my RAID 0 Titans, some serious OC on the (watercooled) CPU, 12GB of RAM, and RAM Drive might help catch or pass you in a few areas.  It'll be nice to see the differences.

Well, as long as we don't count looks anyway.  Stick out tongue

Lets find out!

I wonder if HH would sponsor a forum contest or something where we run some benches.  I think it would be pretty fun to see what kind of scores we can come up with.  I also want to see how fast Dave and Marco's systems are! Wink

Raid even though I think you probably have the jump on all of us it still would be interesting to see all you big dogs go head to head on this!If not anything else would be entertaining and informative!

Serious question though.  Why didn't you go with a couple of the new internal raided SSDs, 12GB of Ram, and a Ram drive for Ready Boost.  Hell, I'm going to have 12GB, so I can slot 2GB to the Ram drive, run 1GB of Ready Boost, and rune the entire 3DMark/FutureMark/et'all from the other GB of Ram drive.  I wonder how crazy high the HDD rating will be then. :D

Of course, that would be kinda cheating, but the RAID'ed G.Skill Titan 128's should be pulling in a little over 450MB @s reads and a little over 320MB @s writes and around 800MB burst read.  I say one guy had 5 of them in a RAID0.  He was pulling a flat 800MB read, 550MB Write, 2.5GB burst read!
