Torrents send my ping high as a kite. I don't download much. Only a problem for gaming.

I wonder if the problem is not my ISP, but perhaps instead my Airlink AR525W router!?

He's an XFCE wacko!  BURN THE WITCH!!!  BURN!!!!

I used transmission once, to download BSG:BTRL.  It worked pretty well, but I prefer KTorrent.

I run Gnome. XFCE would kinda waste my PCs power. That and the fact that using it sucks my will to live.

Ah, I have KDE, XFCE, and Gnome installed on this system - for testing purposes.  I had thought Transmission was the default torrent app in XFCE, but I could have been thinking about Gnome.  Or, it might be the default in both.

XFCE's good for minimal installations, I was using it on my PS3 for a while.

It's default in the gnome. You run Kubuntu right? I run Ubuntu and I just use the default. It's rare that I need to torrent something.
