So I'm doing this project for school, and the camera we used (Provided by a fellow group member.) has no way to transfer the data from the camera to a PC except via a mini-DVD. My DVD Drive has an indent for it, but when I put it in my computer, nothing happens.... Do you guys know of any way I can make the Mini-DVD work?

It doesn't show up in my computer? Does it look like there is anything in the drive?

Maybe try different brands of DVDs.

First of all are you finalizing the DVDs before you take them out of the camera? If not, the footage will be considered "raw" and PCs in general are going to have trouble reading any content....if you are finalizing the discs and its still not working,  try the fix below:

WARNING TRY AT YOUR OWN RISK; INAPPROPRIATE CHANGES COULD DO REGISTRY DAMAGE/REQUIRE REPAIR INSTALL OR REINSTALLATION OF WINDOWS

Load "regedit" from the run-line

Browse to the key:

HKLM > System > Current Control Set > Control > Class > {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

Don't expand that last key, just click on it and look at the entries in the right panel. If there are any entries that say "LowerFilters" and/or "UpperFilters" delete it/them and restart the computer.

Try to load the disc again and see if it loads any content.

I would, but the camera only uses one kind of DVD. Basically, as you record video with it, the camera burns it to a DVD-R Disc. So more about this finalization deal?

i don't know specifically but basically after you are done recording to a disc you have to finalize it -- there is some option somewhere in the camera; maybe find the manual online to look up how to specifically do it.
