There are only a select few events in the PC hardware world that get hardcore enthusiasts truly excited. For example, when popular trade shows like Computex, IDF, and CES take place, there is a fair amount of buzz. Also, anytime the major players in graphics release next-generation GPUs, things definitely heat up; or likewise when a hot new game hits. Finally, when either of the processor big guns, Intel or AMD, unleash new CPU micro-architectures on the world, you can almost bet that the community will come alive with enthusiasm. We're sure we've missed a few other momentous occasions as well, but you get the gist. It takes something new and exciting to get a PC Enthusiast's pulse racing. Thankfully, today is one of those times. Although Intel won't be officially launching their Core i7 processors, formerly codenamed Nehalem, and the X58 Express chipset until sometime later in the month, we've had them in house for a while now and can finally show you all the goods. We've tested every Core i7 speed grade that will be available at launch, along with at trio of X58 Express based motherboards. We've even thrown in some high-resolution multi-GPU SLI and CrossFireX testing for good measure as well. Click the link below and take a look... Intel Core i7 Processors: Nehalem and X58 Have Arrived
Wow way to give me the upgrade bug. Not only show off the i7 CPUs but the new version of my mobo too.

I'm going to handcuff myself to my chair for the next six months (maybe AMD will somehow surprise us with something that drops the prices), then buy buy buy!
People read the stupidest things. Like this sig, for instance.
Awesome. I can't wait to build an i7 system...unfortunately I'll need to wait a bit longer before upgrading though.

They actually perform better than I expected, after hearing some pessimistic news. But it's definitely nothing even close to Pentium 4 --> Core.
Hello
Can't remember with whom or which thread we had this discusion but it was about waterblocks for these new cpu's. Well it looks like swiftech was the first to pull out with the blocks for it but DD also has blocks available now too. Nothing from EK as of yet so I guess I was wrong. Also I have seen a few places already with X58 boards in stock. No i7 cpu's in stock yet just preorder's.

Just in time for Christmas!
Oh amdcranckitup. Not sure if I'm getting a core i7 this year or not, but you know that you guys would have first dibs on anything I stop using.

Im just messing with you BOB.Im so impressed with the rigs you and ICE have I cant even think that far ahead to be able to get an i7.But give me time and I,ll get up to a Quadcore first of the year and maybe even a Striker or Maximus with a 9800 thrown in there some where. That would get me closer and I would be satisfied with that setup for a while. Like to see one of you guys get a i7 rig just to se the reveiw posted by one of our guys here! Maybe Raid will get one soon he,s the one wih the money around here! LOL How bout it Raid have,nt heard from you much lately. He must be reving up one of his current Hot Rods he,s got and going to spring a suprise on us!
Lol Well I sold my old rig which was no slouch to a girl at work and since then I have reinstalled windows on it 2 times, put a new hard drive in it and I got a call tonight saying it wont cut on at all now. I still have not got a dime for it. So if its something like the PSU or mobo I'm going to just pick it up and say that I can't fix it. It's has worked fine for me since I got it and now in a few weeks it just keeps dying. I'll see what I can get out of it you guys having first dibs of course.

Thats how it goes when you sell it to some one you know its suppose to come with a lifetime warranty!! Or at least they think it does. On top of that she has,nt even payed you. Most of the time when they have a problem its Usually operator error not the rig.

Yeah I never had a problem from it.
Is it officially out in the market yet???
Paul Olivenza Jr: Is it officially out in the market yet???
I have seen it on a few random places for double the price. It should be out everywere mid month. I'd wait a week week in a half and you will see the price drop like crazy.
Are you waiting to order your other parts?

Yes Bob . . . but CPU and motherboard first.
. . . as long as I'll have my hands on it before christmas . . . it will be fine.
Should be good to go by then. Have you desided on your final build yet?
