Blank DVD-R not seen by burner

I have a Lite-On sata burner. It will read and write any CD just fine. It will read any DVD movie or program just fine. The only thing it won't do is read/acknowledge blank DVD-Rs. At this time I only have 1 brand of blank media to test... memorex 16x DVD-Rs. It will read 1 of these memorex discs with data already on it(burned on another drive/pc).

My 1st instinct is that the issue is the media itself and not the drive or the software(nero)... what do you guys think?

I'll try a different brand of media as soon as I can.

    ~EDIT~

I am officially a moron... no... seriously! Embarrassed

THIS is the drive I bought 3 mos. ago and only just tried to burn a DVD today. The problem is that's it's a combo drive, not a multi drive so it only reads DVDs.

I feel like such a dope.

LOL I was totally going to put "Are you sure that it burns DVD's" last night but I though I would sound condescending so I did. I did the same thing with my girlfriends computer when I built it.Stick out tongue

Well... I just ordered the 1 I thought I was ordering in the 1st place from newegg. I guess it'll be nice to have 2 optys even though I really don't need 2. I'm probably gonna get a BD rom/burner for x-mas.
