Hello everybody!

i have a pc with paramtres as below,below.built it myself.

The problem is:

After i installed Windows xp sp2 restarted it and it showed the boot page os Asus Logo as here and never boot.



i have te restart the pc about 2-10 time so it can boot normally,when it boot normally it works fine and is very fast,too normal.
but
if i shut it down or restart it has the same problem,,plz anybody help,couze i dont wnat to buy another mootherbord.

Also i have made e bios reset,FLASH BIOS,LOADED DEFAULT SETTINGS OF BIOS.

Have you run a memory test on it yet? That would be my first course of action, mastercool.

what du u mean a memory test? to test the ram? if yes how?

After re-reading your post I have a couple of questions for you, mastercool. Is this a new build with a fresh Windows install, or has your rig worked fine until you upgraded your service pack? Is it service pack 2 or 3 that you currently have installed?

 THAt was EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED:    i connected all the stuff and prees the power button to start it,it had no OS,so i put the windows cd and it begun copying the files as normally,after it finished copying the windows file,automatically it needed to restart to complete installation(as normally windows installation),when it restarted that was the 1st time it freezed the ASUS LOGO and didnt continue to finish win installation .      then i had to restart several time or shuted down and once it boot and win finished intallation.    then i restarted again but still the same problem.  when it boot,the pc works fine and fast,no problem,but if i try to restart or shut down and start it then the problems begin.  also i installed win sp3,but i dont think win is the problem couse i have reformated 2 times and still the same.

Test your RAM. I like to use MemTest86 (free), and you can go HERE to get it. Microsoft also makes an excellent free memory diagnostic utility, and you can get that right HERE. Another free utility, that I haven't tried, is MemTest 3.6 (not to be confused with MemTest86). You can get it HERE if you want to try that one, mastercool.

Disable the Quick Boot/Full Screen Logo and verify that the bios is actually completly loading and passing control to ntloader. If its doing everything right you should get to the loading windows xp screen and if its hanging there then its just your windows install - your mainboard is most likely okay. If all that worked, I'd verify all the drivers I'm using or actually barebone boot it - which means vid card/keyboard/memory/ OS Harddrive/ CD-DVD Rom only, go into the bios and move it into fail-safe - if your running via the raid controller youll probably have to turn that back on and test and see if it boots fine a couple times like that. If that even screws up then I'd start checking the drivers, possibly reload windows and give it the latest/stable working drivers for anything your loading. Hope that helps.
