My last rig was an Athlon 2000+/1Gb PC3200/AGP 4x x1600 PRO (512Mb)

That's how long I've been outta the loop, and that last pc died on me a few months ago. So here I am looking to build a new rig. I have a pressing suspicion that I forgot something.

I've got a Razer Lycosa/Dynex Mouse, a 22" Samsung LCD, and an MGE Titanium case already. Here's what I'm looking to buy:

ASUS 20X DVD±R DVD Burner with LightScribe Black SATA Model DRW-2014L1T - Retail

ASUS EN8800GT/G/HTDP/512M GeForce 8800 GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16

 CMPSU-550VX 550W ATX12V V2.2 Power Supply - Retail

CORSAIR XMS2 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model TWIN2X4096-6400C5DHX - Retail

ASUS P5Q LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Wolfdale 3.0GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor Model BX80570E8400 - Retail

ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro 92mm CPU Cooler - Retail

Subtotal: $753.94

That rig is going to be a nice upgrade - the speed increase from the dual-core alone is whats really going to make you ask yourself why you waited so long.

It's not custom unless your the only one who can boot it.
