It looks like the days of the keyboard and mouse are numbered but what will take their place?

Microsoft has their touch based interface that seems to be good but will it "crash" on your fingers?

Speach recognition is getting better but will your computer be as stubborn as your wife or husband? "COMPUTER I TOLD YOU TO TAKE OUT THE RECYCLE BIN!"

You can always strap a sensor band around your head and just think what you want, but do you want your thoughts broadcast? Talk about a Freudian slip!

So will one of these, several of these, or another interface method take over for the good old keyboard and mouse?

How long does the keyboard and mouse have left to be in mainstream use? 5,10, 20 30 years, more?

All errors in spelling and grammar are entirely by design in order to enrage those who have nothing left to add to the discussion and therefore seek superiority through personal attacks.

The mouse will always have decisive advantages over touch screen.  It's faster than physically moving your arm, the monitor can be far away, etc.  Only a device that lets you "think what you want", as you put it, could replace the mouse.
