    Can't boot from CD

    I'm new to building computers. This is my first one and I'm having some problems with it. I am unable to boot from the CD. The disk spins but just sits there at "Boot from CD: _ " after I had hit enter after I inserted the xp boot cd. I think the problem may lay with the hard drive. I only have one so RAID is out of the question. But I dont know what to do since the motherboard manual I was using only discusses RAID. I trired IDE, but got the same result. My specs are as follows:

    Ist thing you need to do is to go into the bios check you settings, be sure that your boot device settings are set so your Optical drive (CD rom) is set as 1st boot device and then check and make sure that your hard drive is being reconized ! hit F10 to save settings and reboot!  Good luck.

    Hmm...Zotac. This is the first I have ever heard of them! And, by the way, welcome to the HotHardware forum, nicksawick! Follow AMD's advice posted above, and I sure do hope your motherboard's documentation explains to you what key you need to hit to enter the BIOS because I wasn't able to find that info for you. Post back again if you are still having trouble.

     Thanks for your help guys. I got it working. Aparently the CD drive was the problem.
