    Crysis Problems

For some odd reason, Crysis now crashes EVERY TIME I go to the load game screen (where I go to pick which save file I want to play). It crashes before it even loads any of the files.

I am updated to the latest patch. I even tried reinstalling the game.

Has anyone had this problem? Do you guys have any suggestions on how to fix this?

I can only suggest the basics such as updating your video card drivers.  Also, what is your video card and operating system?  And, can you load up multiplayer?

    MSI 8800GT

    169.25 drivers

    Vista Home Premium 32-bit (SP1)

Just turned on my computer to try if multiplayer works and the game won't even load now. I just get a black screen and Vista tells me that a problem caused the game to stop working correctly. Tried this twice and that message popped up. Then I tried rebooting and starting up the game and Vista told me that the display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered.

Seems like the problem got worse...

Hmm.  Try setting your GPU Memory Clock speed to 900mhz.

    It's worth a shot.

    Re: Crysis Problems

I was having a problem with the Crysis demo, nothing like yours. It was keyboard lag. A lot of people were suggesting to update drivers or rollback.

I cleaned my drivers with Driver Cleaner Pro, downloaded the latest but they wouldn't install! Meaning I had no drivers for my $500 card, it was effectively reduced to onboard graphics. So I installed Omega drivers successfully, immediately after I was able to update the latest ATI drivers. A few other people have expierence this to. Keep this solution in mind when changing.

    EA Support:

There are several issues that can contribute to issues that happen with running this software on Windows Vista. Please try some of the following troubleshooting steps to resolve your issues:

    • If you can access the game's option menu, make sure all graphics attributes are set to a lower setting.
    • If you can access the game's option menu, try running the game in a window. This option can usually be found in the video options menu.
    • If you are having problems with the DirectX10 version of the game. Try right clicking on the game's icon in the Games tray and select the DirectX 9 version of the executable.
    • You can try to get the game to work by running it in Compatibility Mode.
      1. Right-click the game's desktop shortcut icon and choose 'Properties'.
      2. In the Properties Panel, click the 'Compatibility' tab.
      3. Place a check in the 'Compatibility Mode' checkbox.
      4. Select  Windows XP (Service Pack 2) in the mode box.
      5. Click 'Apply' to save your changes.

If you did not opt to have a desktop icon installed:

      1. Find the game icon listed in your Games directory.
      2. Right-click on the game and click on 'Customize'. This will bring up the Customize menu.
      3. Select 'Play'.
      4. Select ' Edit'.
      5. This will bring up the Properties screen. Click the 'Compatibility' tab.
      6. Check 'Run in Compatibility Mode' and then choose Windows XP (or whatever operating system the game was designed for).
      7. Press 'Apply' then press 'OK'.  You will be back at the customize menu.
      8. Close the customize screen.
      9. Now the game is configured to run in Compatibility Mode.

Please note that this will only make the game run in Compatibility Mode if you click on the shortcut that you set Compatibility Mode for.  All other shortcut icons (such as in your Start menu) will have to have these changes made as well.

Did this fix the keyboard lag?  I have been experiencing lag and I was hoping it wasnt my Razer keyboard, that would REALLY piss me off.

It fixed my keyboard lag, although I had to trial and error this solution myself, be warned though, there were complications as mentioned above. Google didn't yield any solution for me. Give it a shot and report back.

I'll give these a shot over the weekend when I have more time. Thanks for the suggestions! I'll let you know what happens.
