Liquid Cooled GeForce 9800 GTX Spy Shots

We just received some photos of a slick, liquid-cooling system for the recently released GeForce 9800 GTX that we thought you'd all like to see.  The shots come by way of Berlin-based Aqua Computer.  Aqua Computer manufactures a number of custom liquid-cooling kits and accessories for everything from processors to hard drives, but their GPU water blocks are particularly trick.

The aquagrafx 9800 GTX cooling system you see pictured here should be available on the company's website very soon.  In addition to its obvious good looks, the aquagrafx 9800 GTX features purified electrolyte copper construction (99.99% pure cooper) and weighs only 600 grams.  The 6mm high aquagrafx 9800 GTX water block makes contact, and hence cools, the GPU, RAM chips, and voltage regulators on the card and includes a high-quality thermal paste as an interface material, in lieu of less-efficient thermal pads.  The water block also features 18mm wide channels, which allow for high flow rates, and 1/4" fittings.

At the moment, pricing is set to EUR 79.90 for the aquagrafx 9800 GTX cooling system alone.  A GeForce 9800 GTX card with the cooling system already installed will also be offered for EUR 379.90, however.

That looks pretty nice... My next video card upgrade will most likely include the introduction of a water cooled GPU and CPU solution... looks well made.

And who said computers can't be sexy? This GPU water block looks very well machined and designed. Now we just need Aquacomputers to send HotHardware a sample, so we can see how it performs. Unfortunately, given the price a review is about as close as I will be able to get to one.

This won't work on the GX2, but water-blocks for the GX2 are coming.

Better come fast because the GX2 needs it more than the GTX.

If you think you can’t do something, you’ll never be able to do it. No matter how easy it is.
