from these offers only the GT is worth buying and I wouldn't put my hopes up with that mail instant rebate
I never trust MIRs. Besides, you are being charged the price without it for at least a few months anyway. I think it's best not to take it into consideration unless comparing two products that are the same without a rebate, and one of them has a MIR too.
Hello
plus you might throw out the rebate thinking its junk mail
Personally I avoid MIR', but can I just say ..."WOW".
Amazing, it is so nice to see high performance cards in the mid-range price arena.
Well since Newegg has the 9800GX2 in stock($600)I'm thinking 8 series prices will continue to fall over the next few months. I can't wait to see the 9800GTX benchmarks... I'm thinking 2 of them for sli is what I'm gonna want to buy.

Hi All
So Recovering, are you going to go with a Nvidia chipset this time/
ASUS Z7S WS
EVGA 295 GTX
HITACHI Deskstar 7K1000 RAID 5
Intel Xeon E5420 Harpertown
HT Omega Claro
CORSAIR CMPSU-1000HX
mushkin 6GB 3 x 2GB) DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)
Harmon Kardon HK 3490 W/ Energy RC 10
LG W3000H-Bn
SILVERSTONE SST-TJ07
Plextor PX 755 SA
Windows 7 Ultimate
Areca ARC-1210
TBH jtm I'm very wishy-washy so until I actually fork out the dough, take my buying plans with a nugget o salt. If/when they come out with an uber OC'ed GX2, that might be what I get so I can stick with an Intel chipset(X38 so I can use DDR2 awhile longer).
When reading reviews I tend to skim, but after taking a closer look at the GX2 review/benches I'm pretty impressed by it's power consumption which appears to be on par with my Ultra.
BTW: As soon as I upgrade my GFX card I'll deffinately be selling my 8800 Ultra and deffinately won't charge more than $400!!!

Hi All,
I know what you mean Recovering. However, if the 9800GX2 shows it's The Card, I believe I'll go with it paired with a Maximus Formula Motherboard. $600.00 though Ouch!
I really do not know how many persons will step up to 9800 if they have already a 8800GTX
Plenty IMO... well the ones who can afford it anyway.
I do not see a reason for changing the video card, except if you have a EVGA Step-up Program
