    Game of the year predictions

I'm interested to know what PC game people think will be voted game of the year!

I'd say there are realistically only 3 games in the running: Bioshock, Crysis and COD4!!!

Re: Game of the year predictions

I just completed the single-player CoD 4 campaign and thought it was awesome.  Crysis is gorgeous, but I don't think the game itself is as good as some others.  Personally, I go for straight up action, and the game has to look good too.  Surprisingly, I've actually squeezed in some game time the last couple of months and have opinions on this topic! :)

My personal choices, based on the 'fun' factor are:

    1) Gears of War PC (SOOOO much better than the Xbox 360 version.  Once you get used to the controls, the game is super fun and the graphics are great.)

    2) Call of Duty 4 (Very tough choice for me.  I thought the single player campaign was awesome, and they did some really unexpected things with the story line.  If it was longer, it would have been my first choice.)

    3) UT3 - (Just plain fun.)

Crysis, EP2, Bioshock all come after these three for me.  Bioshock especially.  It starts out so sloooow and boring to me.

I could drone on for at least a couple paragraphs on why Bioshock is the most incredible game ever to date, but I wont! ;)

I think COD4 will be game of the year based on high scores, sales figures and mass appeal!!!

cod4 for sure. not to mention it as exceptional graphics (though not as pretty as crysis) that can run well even on mid-range computers.

I have only played the Crysis and CoD 4 demo's, so for me it's Bioshock.  I plan to get CoD 4 soon, however; the demo was bloody fun.  Crysis seems like it'll be a good one too, but not nearly as good.  Plus I can't run it maxed out, while I can with CoD 4.  They did a good job with that engine, I've seen it run on some laptops that would never be considered top of the line.

Half-Life 2 Episode 2 was also excellent.  An improvement over Episode 1.

I also played Timeshift, and while it's not quite a AAA game, it's pretty fun at times.

Even though COD4 is my prediction, I'd really like to see Bioshock win!!!

I think I have to give Bioshock another chance.  The whole beginning sequence was just so sloooow for me.  Just dragged on so long I quit.  I'll sit down with it again over the holiday...

If you're saying that you've never taken the time to complete the game then you've missed out on an incredibly engaging story with some real depth.

COD4!!!!!  I thought Bioshock was a waste of time, I love FPS games, but that one was completely out there.

Well, after completing single player and playing a few days online I must say Call of Duty 4 is the PC game of the year for me now.  BioShock might be very close single player wise, but throw in the multiplayer with CoD 4 and it's no contest.  I can't stop playing online it's so fun.
