The DFI solution looks interesting with the Thermalright cooling right out of the box

The think it is only the UT version that carries the Thermalright cooling right from the box, and  the LT does not.You have to invest in extra cooling for the mosfets,NB (recommend Noctua which is much better).

The UT is not announced for the X48 yet,I really do not know why,and the Transpiper that you have to buy extra for the DFI board does not do much good

Did anyone test X48 vs 780i? I am thinking between those two but will definatelly wait for new GPU and then decide :)

I hear x48 is soo much better due its ability to 1600 fsb and ddr3. 780i inst really much of a new chipset its a 680i with soem stuff added in. the 780i doesnt support ddr3 either.

So,  X48 is DDR3 only? DDR3 is too expensive right now. That is the reason I was considering 780i.

No, it supports it. Like the rampage is x48 and uses ddr2.
