I'm working on the design for a PC I'm going to build as soon as I get a job... Everything's decided except for the damn Graphics Card. Originally, the plan was for two (nVidia) 8500GT's w/ 512MB by Evga, but a friend has just told me that I'd get better results with a SINGLE 8600GTS. But just ONE 8600GTS costs $30 less than two 8500's. So I was thinking of just doing two 8600GT's, but hell if I know. Can someone give me some advice?

I would get 2 8600GT's at least one now, and the other one later and enjoy those dx10 games

Go for a single 8800gt if you can get a hold of 1... they're sold out alot of places, but deffinately a superior option to 2 8600's!!!

I believe he is on a budget, but that could be a good choice.

My advice is to go with the fastest, single graphics card you can afford.  If you've got $200 to spend 256MB 8800 GTs are right over the horizon.
