Alright, I can't take it anymore, so I'll come right out and say it.  WHERE IS EVERYBODY?  This forum has gotten far too quiet.  We NEED you guys back in here on the board and in the comments section of the news on the main site!  We need you to keep the HH Community alive here!

In the month of November, we will be running a promotion and straight give-away, as a way to "Give Thanks" to our loyal readers and contributers here in the forum.  Stay involved here and contribute.  The Great Thanksgiving Turkey God may just smile upon you. Cool

Im going to blame TF2 for my lack of forum time. I only get about 45 mins to an hour to use my computer on a daily basis and really only have a very limited use for one at work due to the nature of my job (I briefly check my emails at the start/ end of my shift and thats it) so I never look at the forum whilst there.

Still find it difficult to believe its this quiet though with the run up to Christmas and all the new hardware/ games that are cropping up. Maybe its just a bit too easy at  the moment..... 2gigs of ram, an 8800GT, an oc'ed Q6600, an Asus Mobo, an Antec P182, modular PSU and any number of hard drives and you are going to have a powerful, relatively cheap gaming rig with very few faults and a very straight forwards build.

i have noticed it as well... its defiantly not like a few years back, but it think it will pick up some heading into the Christmas season.

So, competition eh?  What sort of game do you think you guys would like to run?  We'll see if we can put something together.

ps.  I like how big the WAKE UP is now on the tagging cloud on the side margin. Big Smile  It's a perfect example of the power of tagging.  Guys, if you want a thread to be seen, tag your post with proper words in the tag field.

Tf2 or CoD4!  (as blatantly biased as I am to these two bits of online gaming heaven).

Granted its a PC based forum for the most part but it'd be fun to somehow have a guitar hero competition or some other console based game like -- oh i dunno HALO?? Wink

i like contests, the folding ones are always good because it at least promotes something useful to others (not that gaming ones are bad, you need to have fun too) I'll have to switch back to xp if that happens though as Vista doesn't like sending half of the WU's that i finish to the FAH servers so i stopped again :(

I'll try and pick up my posting and banner clicking to help you out Davo contest of no contest as this site has helped me out in the past, and i don't need anything in return.

Part of it I think has to do with the fact people ignore questions posted by newer users. Many times I would browse the Tech Support forum and answer a number of questions that have been up for a week or more with no replies. They aren't even that difficult that most of the older users wouldn't have some suggestions. By ignoring new users you're ensuring that they do not develop into more regular posters. Also a little help gets them into the hobby more.

You make a good point Grahf, I'll have to put more time and effort into adressing the new/newer users and their issues. I think some of us have a tendency to click on the posts in the active column before those in the unanswered column when it would serve the community more done vice versa!

Very good point Grahf.  We do our best as admins here to respond where we can but there are only so many hours in a day and we have lots of articles and testing projects going on.  We're dependant on you forum regulars to help out the community too! Smile

I guess I will jump back on the posting horse again.

though with my (lack of)knowledge of current hardware, I will probably be asking more questions than giving answers :P

The way I look at it, you don't have to be an expert to have an opinion or to contribute to a discussion.  And who says we all have to talk tech support all the time? Big Smile

How about BadBoy's costume from Halloween and the chicks flanking him on either side?!?  Discuss... (well, you get the idea anywaySmile )

Ah yes, posting on the forums is good.  Though lurking suits me best sometimes.  I too know less about current hardware, mainly because it's too expensive to get the best.

Hey Hey hehehe... :)

Yeah, I know it's no time for excuses, I do believe we should get involved a lot more with the posting/helping/commenting in here..

All I can say It's I can't wait for 2008,, Meaning I need to finish this VERYVERY stressful semester, and also solve many personal problems..

These things are finishing me off completely.. I'm only getting 4 hours of sleep at night at most with all the assignments, projects and also

because of my job...

But let me tell ya, HH has been my Home Page for the past 6 years Minimum... Great way to start the day, with all the latest Geek News :p

I think I speak for most of us on telling you HH Team & Community that we will make a bigger effort to keep things moving :)

PS: By the way GREAT STUFF!! HH Schwag Yes

OK, one more time, what is the general concensus on a game to setup a little HH Tourny on?

Options -

UT3, Crysis, TeamFortress 2, other?

Sound off here and we'll set something up VERY soon.

Go for it.... the only problem for UK based members tends to be that it occurs about 2am UK time so has very limited appeal. For everyone else though it can become major bragging/ posting rights.

well my options are limited unless i buy a new game which may or may not happen since i turned the finaces over to the fiance. So my 1st choice is CSS of course but I wouldn't mind having an excuse to go to the fiance with to get UT3. Just hope I would have enough time to get the game and get familiar.

HAHA Nelson, that right there is why I control the finances...plus the fact that she has said from the beginning that she wanted nothing to do with the finances other than spend them. lol.

I'm good for anything CSS, HL, Crysis. I don't own COD4 for the PC (ALL of my buddies got it on 360 so I had no other choice) and I don't have UT3 (I want it though!).

I had a blast the last time we did the CSS tourny. My team lost by what 1 match, but its all good.
