 hi

i just bought the MSI P6N platinum motherboard and i see that it needs a  8 pin Aux CPU power connector

my psu only has a 4 pin aux power connector, does that mean that i need to buy a new psu?

the motherboard uses a 20+4 pin power connector

heres a pic of the mother board http://global.msi.com.tw/uploads/prod_88408aabc7bd12a8a5127b11ef88eca9.jpg

thank you

You should be OK.  Just plug the 4-pin connector into the location for the 8-pin connector - it'll only fit in one way, and to one side.  That should work fine; at least it works fine for most motherboards.  If it doesn't work for you though, you can get a cheap adapter that'll convert the 4-pin plug to 8-pin.  Just make sure your PSU is powerful enough for your hardware.
