Hi guys, I'm a newbie here and I desperately need help! I have a whole bunch of old memories that don't have sticker on most of them. They are different sizes and types. I just want to sort them so I can throw out those are useless now and get rid of the rest to a hardware store. I didn't have any knowledge  on RAM  so I  searched to see what types we have so far. After reading How stuff works, I think most of them are SIMM and DIMM modules based on their looks (pretty long), and they are desktop and/or server memories. And that's all I have so far.

So how can I know what speed each one has? and how should I sort them out? Should I sort them by the names of the manufacturers on the memories or should I sort by the names of the companies which sell/use them (HP, Siemens...)? And how do I know if they are server or desktop memories?

Thank you so much!!!

Have you tried googling the brands and markings on the chips.

for example: the chip has Infineon HYB39S256800CT-7.5 on the chips, putting that into google and clicking on some links will tell you that its a PC133 SDRAM chip 256MB CAS latency 3
