this is a prefetch reg hack. I  basically got it from here

So this is what I did.  I crated a system restore point.  Went into the Windows folder.  Made a backup of the prefetch folder.  Then I deleted the contents of th prefetch folder, and restarted my computer

Ran my most used app (firefox)

I waited until my hard drive had stopped

Start, Run, regedit, and then went here: HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\PrefetchParameters\EnablePrefetcher

0 - to disable prefetching
1 - to prefetch application launch files
2 - to prefetch boot files
3 - to prefetch as many files as possible

Was 3, set it to 2 making sure that Decimal was selected

went back to the prefetch folder (C:\WINDOWS\Prefetch) and deleted regedit.

My boot up is noticeably faster now.
