Hi, what is the optimum CPU temperature?

Hi, I found a really good piece of free software that shows the temperature info and a lot more.

    Saw it here :

    http://www.modernstreet.com/useful-software/siw-a-great-tool-to-check-your-system-info/

I installed the software and it rocks!! I'm running an AMD 64 X2 3800 (65 W) and Asus mother board

Can you tell me what is a healthy temperature for the CPU? Like my reading on my machine shows the :

CPU Core 0 and CPU Core 1 as usually around 20 celcius

and GPU  = 56 celcius (is that stands for General Processing Unit? Is it the hard drive?)

    Thanks!

    Zack

Can someone tell me whether AMD is better or should I get an Intel next?

for AMD i would say any thing under 55C is fine. GPU = Graphics Processing unit (Video card) 56c is normal mine is 75C at idle :D

Geeked  I don't know too much about this kind of thing, but your answer is a relief.

"GPU = general processing unit" ??? lol, just a guess.
