I JUST BOUGHT AN HIS X1950PRO ICE Q 256MB TURBO AGP.
BEFORE I BOUGHT IT. READING IT SAID THAT A TURBO CARD
IN SOFTWARE THERE IS A "TURBO BUTTON" TO PRESS
AND SOFTWARE WOULD AUTO OC VIDEO CARD.
SOFTWARE NEVER CAME WITH CARD
THE CD SENT ME TO ATI SITE TO DOWNLOAD
LATEST DRIVERS AND CATALYST CONTROL CENTER 7.6
WHEN YOU GO TO HIS SITE AND IT SHOWS DOWNLOADS
IS IT THIS SOFTWARE? OR JUST ATI DRIVERS ETC. ?
THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR HELP
I took a spin thru the HIS site (here) it would seem they recommend ATi CCC drivers so I don't see any reason to argue. As they explain on their site however they tailor these cards to OCers by using better quality components to hopefully deliver a better end user OC.
Here's quote from website:
HIS Turbo edition guarantees a dramatic range of overclockable speed on
your card. All IceQ series come with both Turbo and non Turbo
(standard) editions. Check for the box containing this label. It
identifies this is a "Turbo" edition card and marked with the
guaranteed overclocking speed in core and memory.
I would be inclined to say stop looking to the ATi driver suite for an OC, Start looking toward something like ATi Tool / ATi Tray tools or Powerstrip.
