The "how old is everyone" thread gave me an idea. We all chat about random stuff all day, but how many of us really know anything about each other? So let me start off, by telling you about the "serious grumpy take-no-crap-from-anyone Venom" as some of you view me.

Name: Real name is Serge. The forum name I picked because at the time my favorite car was the Dodge Viper Venom 600TT.

Age: Birthday February 16th 1985.

Location: Update: Moved to Upper Manhattan NYC from Milford PA, USA... small town up in the Pocono Mountains. Before that Long Island, NY and before that Queens, NY. Was born in St. Petersburg, Russia. Yes, I've moved around a bit.)

Job: Project Manager in Midtown Manhattan, NY. (C#.NET, ASP.NET, MS SQL)

Education: B.S. Computer Science, Math.

Interests: Computers in general (networking, hardware, software). Not much I don't know when it comes to computers. Home theater stuff (speakers, headphones, Xbox, TVs), cars, motorcycles, and poker. Think that's about it, we have to see if I think of anything else.

Got into computers: The first PC I built with the help of my dad was a 27mhz i386. Used to play Lemmings, Wolf3D, etc. I really got into learning hardware the days of 3dfx Voodoo2 and Nvidia TNT. Had the money to buy my own computer when the original Athlons came out (built it myself, Slot A 700mhz, 256MB, 20gig HD, GF2GTS). Started reading HotHardware sometime before 1999. Joined the forum the first day it was up on 04/03/2000.

Games I play: I'm a big fan of Half Life 2/CSS/DODS. Although I haven't been playing much on my computer lately. Right now I mostly play a game of Halo 2 on Xbox Live/network with friends now and then. Sometimes a little bit of Guild Wars when I'm bored (if anyone needs help in the game, let me know). And any random new game that's good and comes along for Xbox/Xbox360/PC.

How I am in real life: Funny thing is, I'm a very easy going guy. Not at all what some of you would expect from my "rule enforcement" ways of the forum. I'm hardly uptight in real life... just want this place to stay clean and respectful, rather than turn into the flame fest most other forums are.

Job: Student at Exeter College and part time shop worker on a Sunday for some cheap ass store. Hoping to get a job with Game in Exeter.

Intrests: Well computers. Not that knowledgeable I feel but I know enough to build my own and help others where I can. Wishing to learn more about networking, protocols, NAS and SAN setups and RAID. Also a major ice hockey fan. Support the Toronto Maple Leafs and Team Canada. Even got a Toronto Jersey which is 100% Canadian. Also into my motorbike which I love to ride even if its only got 14BHP.

Got into computers: Well my first pc was bought off CCL a UK based company. It had a standard mobo, case, keyboard and mouse but everything else was specified by me. It was an AMD Athlon XP 2800+, 256MB DDR333 RAM, 40GB Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 8, ATI 9600, XFX KT600-ALX mobo. I started reading hothardware in September 2004 when searching for help and thanks to this site I have developed my knowledge greatly. I just hope I keep getting better . My first bought PC was the one in my sig. Getting a DFI Lanparty UT nF4 Ultra-D and a Hyundai B91A 19" TFT in the next few weeks tho

Games I play: Currently I am mainly playing NHL 06 on my PS2. I also play BF2, HL2, Elderscrolls III: Morrowind and Max Payne 2 at the moment. Oh and I been mucking about on GTA: San Andreas to chill out past couple of days on my PS2.

How I am in real life: Well to be honest I am very outgoing on here. In real life I am much more, shall we say, inside a shell. Not looking for sympathy but my mates reckon I got depression (I have many symptoms just scared of seeing a doctor) and I find it really hard to trust people but with my mates who I have known for years I am very outgoing. Been pretty down past 3 weeks or so cos of female troubles (an ex giving me grief past few weeks and found out Tuesday my gf cheated on me on Saturday). My dad says I am so laid back with life I am horizontal.

Intrests: Computer and as any typical teen going out to the pub or down mentmore (a local pub) and being...yobboish lol best way to describe it.

Got into computers: Got into computers when i was about 6 or 7 when i got my first pc. It was a Compaq 400mhz Intel Celeron with inbuilt graphics, 64meg of RAM and a 2 or 3 gig harddrive. Wow how its progressed

Games I play: Not really any games at the mo...will be when i get my pc. Been looking at 'Elder Scrolls: Oblivion sweet game

Got into computers: I was a late starter. I've always been interested in gadgets etc and when I started a Multimedia course at college I decided to get my first PC and wanted to research it thuroughly before purchasing. In the end I bought a Systemax PC... which contained a Western Digital Cav SE drive that ommited a horrendus whine. I thank God for that HD as it got me obsessed with PC silencing which got which led my review spot at HwHell essentially

Games I play: Umm none. Because of this everyone finds it odd that I like to keep up with the latest graphics cards etc. I like a few RPGs on consoles though (Panzer Dragoon Saga (my avatar), Shining Force, Dragon Force, Disgaea, Phantom Brave, Grandia II etc).

How I am in real life: I'm a clean tidy person but tend to worry a lot. I'm a good friend - everyone comes to me for advice - I'm very open and honest. I'm also dyslexic which has it's downsides but makes me a good problem solver. My brain just works differently

Job : I work for SMS Data Products INC. as a cable technician.I've been doing it for about 7 years. Most people find it odd that i enjoy my job. It's kinda like computers they're constantly coming out with new technology and i learn new stuff all the time. I would like to get my RCDD certification and work my way up to be a network engineer. It's a challenge and alot of fun designing large networks.

interest : Well i've become obsessed with computers but i have other interests like football go ravens( yea we're terrible this yeear so what). I'm a pool junky also i can't go to a bar and not play pool. I like strategy and fps games. And then there's my country side that loves my pickup, country music, fishing camping and all the good stuff.

got into computers : well i probally didn't seriously get into computers till early this year when i decided i needed a new one and thought it would be fun to build one. Now i'm obsessed with it and it drives everyone around me nuts. but oh well i can say i've learned alot in the past year but i still got alot to learn.haviing 3 defective mb's ahs really helped me gain some knowledge to along with all the great people here.

games i play: none right now, no computer to play them on . But i love civilization. i also like just about any strategy game you throw at me even the chessey one's. I like far cry and unreal tournament.

how am i in real life: i've been called mister personality. I am a complete goof at times but mister sincere the next. I am a fast learner and put alot of dedication in everything i do wether it be work being a dad or anything.I seem to be the guy all my friends come to with problems maybe cause i been through more crap then some 40 year people i know. I am also the type that could care less what you think about me, i would never lose an ounce of sleep over anyone else's opinion of me. Age: I'm 20, and I'll be 21 at about the same time the spring semester at my college will be over.

Location: East Bernstadt, Kentucky. Yes, we have computers in Kentucky. And, yes, even some hillbillies use them. Kentucky is a very scenic state, actually. I like it. The town I live in is very small. There's not a single traffic light in the whole place.

Education: Associate's in Science with High Distintion. Currently, I am working on my Bachelor's in Pre-Medical Biochemistry. I plan on applying to dental school next year.

Job: My current job title is "Laborer" for a road construction company close to my house. I am the grunt you see in an orange vest blocking the road not letting you go through. =) My job is physically demanding, but it's my motivation to stay in school.

Interests: Obviously, I like PCs. I love building computers. Also, I like customizing things such as my car. I'm a gamer and can spend hours a day playing.

Games I Play: I play lots of games, but RPGs are my favorite genre. I'm playing EverQuest 2 currently. I also like FPSs, and I've been playing Battlefield 2. I haven't really touched any console games lately.

Got Into Computers: I got into computers after looking around at computer games at Wal-Mart out of curiousity. I had always only played console games and wanted to see what computers had to offer. I picked up EverQuest back in '99, and decided to build a comp to play it because my comp at the time could barely surf the internet. I built a custom computer with an Athlon 700 mHz, 128 MB RAM, 16 MB Vid Card, and a 10 GB HardDrive. After gaming online, I've been hooked ever since.

How I Really Am: I'm laid back. I procrastinate more than I should, and I'm usually not very serious. That's a bad combination when one must take some of the classes I'm enrolled in. I'd rather spend time alone than with other people unless it's with my girlfriend.

Location: Fort Lewis, WA. Way up north and on the west coast, but close to the ocean so it doesnt get that cold. Was born in Opelousas, LA (yes that means Im a Coon-ass).

Education: BS in Electronic (Computer) Engineering and two years Tech School. I actually learned more at Tech School. MSCE, CNA, A+, N+, Imagine Basic & Advanced. I am at least familiar with most major OSs (Windows, Mac, several Linux, Solaris, Digital Unix, AS-400). Plus, a lot of military training for being an Analyst and on using multi-spectrum satellite communications systems.

Job: Im a Sergeant in the army. Hey, what can I say, I get paid for messing with multi-million dollar computers and systems on a daily basis. Ive been doing it for over 6 years now, with 2 deployments to Iraq. Third trip to the sandbox coming up next year.

Interests: Computers and electronics. I like knowing how it works on a very small scale so I read lots of white papers and scientific journals. I own about 10 working computers (oldest still in use is a 486DX4-100) and untold numbers in the scrap heap. Also big into cars, both big iron and imports. Built a show truck that I won lots of SQ+ contest for three years with.

Got into computers: Well lots of people in my family had computers, so growing up I would always mess with their Mac or Tandy or etc. Anyone else remember those Elephant Ear floppies? Or having to boot from one floppy and stick another one in with what you wanted to run?

Games I play: F.E.A.R., COD2, LOTR: Battle for Middle Earth, WH40K. Mostly big into RTS or TBS. Waiting on Elder Scrolls: Oblivion with rapidly diminishing patience.

How I am in real life: Depends on where Im at really. At work Im laid back (yea right) and friendly (*GRRRRRRR*). No really, Im the Nice NCO. The rest of the time Im actually laid back and friendly, with a major outgoing streak. Ill talk to anyone, anywhere, about anything.

Got into Computers:I've been playing on computers since Doom and Wolfenstien 3D came out. I got really heavy into learning how they work after i dropped $400 for my VooDoo 3 and had to install it myself. That was pretty scary for me as I was only like 13 then. lol. Now i can do full builds, explain how things work to people, repair, and whatever else you want to a pc.

Games I play:I love counter strike source and do play it competively but i do enjoy the odd single player game provided its good and my comp can run it. As for consoles I've always had a thing for Nintendo games.

Started Into Computers: Well it was many moons ago, remember the "Trash 80". If you do then you'll know how long.

Games: RPGs when I get the time. I have 30 gigs worth on my comp at home. Current loaded games include: Dungeon Seige, DS LOA, DSII (sense a pattern ), Diablo I and II, Nox, Doom3, Shoot the Roach, and many others.

Real Life: I don't have one. My job takes up too much of it. I do make time for my Grandson, he's almost a year old now. Just about time for his own comp .
