The obvious advantage of wireless charging is that it's super convenient not having to plug a cable into your phone or mobile device. Cables have a way of sneaking under the couch and other hard to reach places, plus they can go bad. On the flip side, wireless charging is pretty slow, or at least it used to be. Wireless charging, believe it or not, isn't really new any more. It has been around in one form or another for years now, and Palm's Touchstone brought the technology firmly into the smartphone field. Powermat also has adapters that enable pretty much any smartphone to benefit from contact charging, but Case-Mate is hoping to step things up even further.
