Google Glass has become quite the hot topic, even in the mainstream. In a way, this is the device that could usher in the mainstream wave of wearable computing, and a lot is riding on the quality and usability of the Exporer Edition. If you'll recall, Google gave I/O 2012 attendees the ability to sign up for a pre-order of the first edition of Glass. E-Trade is offering its account holders a free application for their BlackBerry smartphones that allows them to get real-time stock information and execute trades on their phones. You might dismiss this headline as pure tech geekedness but you'd be missing out.  This is the real deal and may some day allow people with disabilities to do things they never have before.  An exoskeleton that can be worn by a human is a new type of robot under development at Tsukuba University. It's called Hybrid Assistive Limb, HAL for short, and anyone who wears it has potential to lift up to 10-times the weight they normally could. Well, they had the 39th annual Tokyo Auto Show the other day, and Toyota set hearts aflutter with their "i-swing" personal mobility concept car. Now, the skeptical among you might notice that the squarest of squares seem to think they can place a lower case " i " in front of anything and sell it to the skinny eyeglass set. But this is the greatest concept since the Segway, isn't it? Ever notice that many things in science-fiction, especially from a technology standpoint, eventually become reality?  Buck Rogers showed us the first Laser Gun and there have been plenty of examples, (the Jetsons and Video Phones?) since then.  Well, you Mech Warrior fans ought to get a boot out of this one.  "Called The Land Walker, it weighs close to 1 ton (2,000 pounds!) and is controlled by four pedals from inside the cockpit.
