NVIDIA CEO Jen-Hsun Huang kicked off this year’s GPU Technology Conference with his customarily impressive opening keynote. The focus of Jen-Hsun’s presentation was on breakthroughs in computer graphics and advances in GPU computing, but he also unveiled new GPU and Tegra roadmaps and took the wraps off of a brand new small form factor Tegra-based product. If your NVIDIA GeForce 6 or 7 series overclocking adventures haven't yielded the kind of results you had hoped, this guide on the AOA Forums may be of interest.  They outline the steps necessary to soft-mod the BIOS on many GeForce cards to increase the GPU's voltage using NiBiTor and nvFlash.  I've done this mod on a GeForce 7800 GT card with some success, but it's not going to work for everyone because some board partners already tweak their voltages to support increased clock speeds on factory overclocked cards. "Over-clockers are always looking for a way to squeeze... Read more...

NGOHQ has the file, and some forum discussion on the matter. "Not everybody knows how to perform a voltage mod. Today we're giving 7800GT users a small gift - this universal 7800GT BIOS image contains a small voltage mod of 0.1v in 3D mode, meaning you will be able to overclock your 7800GT even higher." Be really, really careful when doing this mod though. Most of the time, even just overclocking your card... Read more...
