What's the definition of a tablet these days? Generally, most tablets are between 7" and 12", but ViewSonic has us wondering if that's the case. The company has just introduced what they're calling a new tablet at CES. The ViewPad 4 is joining the ViewPad 7 and ViewPad 10. You could probably guess, but the ViewPad 4 is a 4.1" tablet. What's interesting is that there are smartphones on the market today with larger screens than this. Many of the phones announced at CES this week have 4.3" displays. So, what's the deal? The deal is that this could easily be called a smartphone. In truth, it really... Read more...

And the tablet craze continues. The entire industry seems to be trying hard to catch up with the momentum that Apple's iPad has gained throughout this year, and while Samsung's Galaxy Tab is definitely the most highly anticipated Android tablet on the market, there are plenty of competitors available if you dig deep. ViewSonic has  been invested in the handheld market for some time, and there's been rumors of a ViewPad in the past. Today, those rumors are being quelled by way of an official introduction by the company. The ViewPad 7 and ViewPad 10 are both being formally introduced, with the... Read more...
The first major tablet wave hit at Computex, shortly after the iPad took the world (and sales numbers) by storm. It seems like Berlin's IFA trade show is where the second wave is coming. ViewSonic, a company you may not expect to be first on the scene with new tablets, is surprising us for sure with a second unit that's arriving shortly after the ViewPad 7. The new ViewPad 100 is a real unique product, hailed as the world's first dual-boot Android and Windows 10" tablet. In other words, this tablet won't make you choose between Google's mobile OS and Microsoft's full destop OS, Windows 7. Both... Read more...
Another tablet? Of course! As the entire PC-based universe gears up to take on the iPad, ViewSonic is even getting in on the action. But there's a difference between this tablet and some of the other Microsoft-blessed tablets coming soon. The ViewPad 7 is Android-based, and in fact, it's the world's first 7" Android 2.2 (Froyo) tablet with phone functionality. That's right: a 7" tablet that can double as a phone! Dell's Streak is a 5" slate with phone support, but this is even larger. It's designed to be used with a Bluetooth headset when using phone functionality, but we suppose you could actually...
