T-Mobile turned more than a few heads during its Uncarrier 8.0 event that was held in late December. The wireless carrier announced a new take on the “rollover” plans by extending it your monthly data allotment (for postpaid accounts). Under T-Mobile’s Data Stash initiative, customers can rollover their unused data month-to-month and keep that amassed data pool for up to a year. T-Mobile has a new trick up its sleeve that may be a precursor to its Uncarrier 9.0 event that is scheduled for March 18 in good ‘ol New York City. According to a limited number of customers that have received a text from T-Mobile, some of their phone lines are getting a complimentary upgrade to unlimited 4G LTE data (for a limited time). Legere made his proclamation at the beginning of August and despite a huge 2014 for T-Mobile, with over 8 million customers adds during the year, it wasn’t enough to overtake Sprint. We aren't entirely surprised that most CEOs aren't as outspoken as T-Mobile's CEO, but the more John Legere speaks, the more we wish that he'd give lessons in whatever spare time he has. Facing a media blitz regarding bill cramming -- a practice whereby major carriers shoved "Premium SMS" services into bills from 2009 to 2013 -- Legere has come out in defense of his company. The bad blood between AT&T and T-Mobile continues, as a federal court ruled that the former’s Aio Wireless brand infringed on the latter’s trademark magenta color. “The court agreed with us that Aio can't continue infringing T-Mobile's magenta mark by using large blocks of what it has called ‘plum,’ and told Aio to stop using magenta or similar colors in all of its marketing and advertising, including stores, web sites and social media,” said T-Mobile in a statement. T-Mobile has made a huge move at CES 2014 this week, at a show where most of the other carriers have nearly bowed out completely.
