Well that certainly didn’t take long. Just days after Sprint got the hot new HTC Touch Pro2, Verizon Wireless is announcing that it too will carry the phone. Like the Sprint version, Verizon’s variant will feature a 3.6-inch WVGA variable-angle tilting touch screen and a slide-out keyboard that is larger than its Touch Pro predecessor. In terms of connectivity, the Touch Pro2 supports EVDO Rev. A and Wi-Fi. The phone also offers global connectivity. Sprint customers who’ve been waiting for the HTC Touch Pro2 won’t have to wait much longer. This hot new phone will be available on Sprint’s network beginning September 8 for $349.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate and a two-year agreement. The Touch Pro2 runs on Windows Mobile 6.1 and the TouchFLO user interface. The latest version of HTC’s TouchFLO 3D user interface makes it easy to switch from email to a call with a single touch. HTC's Touch Pro2 is being widely hailed as the very best Windows Mobile-based smartphone ever. Which makes sense considering that HTC's legendary hardware is behind the magic, not to mention the fact that the WinMo operating system has been turned on its side and laced with nice customizations from HTC's software team. The HTC Touch Pro2 is set to arrive in the U.S. on August 12. T-Mobile will carry the new HTC smartphone, which has a WVGA (480 x 800) touchscreen, slide-out QWERTY keyboard, and voice capabilities. The Touch Pro2 will run on T-Mobile’s 3G network and Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g). The Touch Pro2 has a 3.6-inch color display that slides back and tilts up to reveal a full QWERTY keyboard. Samsung already showcased its goods at Mobile World Congress 2009; now, it's HTC's turn. The company that delivered the Touch Pro and Touch Diamond has introduced successors to both of the aforementioned phones, and while neither of the new ones are drastic improvements, it's the little things that count.
