On Tuesday, Microsoft announced that it has released Windows Vista / Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2 (SP2) to manufacturing. The new service pack, combined for both Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008, will be released sometime in Q2 2009, Microsoft indicated. In late October Microsoft released the first beta of Windows Vista SP2 to a small group of Technology Adoption Program customers. In a blog post, Microsoft said they are going to open up the beta to more testers, starting this week. Currently Vista SP2 is rumored to be scheduled for RTM (release to manufacturing) in April. The blog post did confirm a 1H 2009 release date. The post says that starting on Dec. 4th, everyone (meaning the general public, too) will be able to download the current beta build of Windows Vista SP2. We have just received word that Dell plans to launch a brand new LCD today.  We're told that at 12:00PM Central Time the new $289 Dell SP2008WFP display will be available on www.dell.com.
