Nokia must really be in deep with Microsoft, because the company may be working on a Windows RT tablet that’s due to be announced in September. The device is rumored to bear the “Vanquish” moniker, and it will likely run a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor. If a leaked photo is to be believed, the Nokia Windows RT tablet will be roughly 10 inches and run on Verizon’s 4G LTE network. Qualcomm’s Raj Talluri hasn’t been shy about talking up his company’s Snapdragon 800 chip, claiming back in February that it would whip NVIDIA’s Tegra 4 processor, and he’s back at it. This time, he’s dogging Intel. “You’ll see a whole bunch of tablets based on Snapdragon 800 in the market this year,” he told Bloomberg. “There’s a lot of talk about Intel and tablets. Hardly a day has gone by since we posted our review of the LG Optimus G Pro, but already LG and Qualcomm have announced an LG Optimus phone with a better, faster, more powerful processor. The companies jointly announced that the upcoming LG Optimus will run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chip, as opposed to the LG Optimus G Pro’s Snapdragon 600. LG claims that the quad-core Snapdragon 800 will offer a 75% boost in performance over the Snapdragon S4 Pro, and despite its power, the chip supposedly has excellent battery efficiency.
