Wow, what a difference a few years makes. It wasn't too long ago that Polaroid was cranking out camera after camera meant to show images just moments after they were shot. A downfall and ownership change later, and now the namesake is latching onto a bandwagon rather than starting one of their own. 3D is obviously all the rage these days, and while some people still don't get the allure, there's no doubt that the buzz is bringing in money from somewhere. Cute? Or just ridiculous? It may be a combination of both, but one thing it definitely is is a money grab. As 3D continues to take the world by storm, more and more companies are hoping to get in on the riches. RealD has been a part of 3D development for years, and their passive 3D glasses are in tons of movie theaters today. These cheap, flimsy glasses are amazingly one size fits all, though, and obviously a huge market opportunity is being missed. Er, was being missed.
