Super Talent announced a new line of high speed, quad-channel Registered DDR3 RDIMM modules for servers running at 1600MHz. As server admins know, there is often a problem that arises if all memory slots are populated on a motherboard. If all of the slots are populated, the memory must throttle its performance in order to compensate for the limitations of the CPU. These new Super Talent modules overcome this issue and support full speed at full loading, so you can have 16 slots of memory running at 1600MHz. Super Talent's new modules are available in 2GB and 4GB capacities. Quad-Channel DDR3 RDIMMs... Read more...
Samsung Electronics has announced the creation of a new 32GB RDIMM with 3D TSV technology. The RDIMM (registered dual inline memory module) was made by stacking DDR3 SDRAMs that were manufactured by using 30nm-class process technology, and those SDRAMs were connected using the TSV (through silicon via) technology. This new module can provide speeds of up to 1,333Mbps and has a power consumption of 4.5 watts per hour, which is more than 30% smaller than the power consumption of an LRDIMM (load-reduced dual-inline memory module) using DDR3 SDRAMs made with the same technology as above. The modules... Read more...
Enterprise clients take note -- Super Talent has begun shipping its new 8GB Registered-ECC DDR3 DRAM modules, otherwise known as R-DIMMs, to support low-voltage Intel Westmere platforms. These 8GB modules adhere to the JEDEC standard of 1.35V and 1333MHz with latencies of 9-9-9. "Going Green has always been associated with considerable trade-offs; not so with our new generation of 1.35V server memory. Our 8GB capacity boards enable higher capacity with higher efficiency and with a real measurable effect on operating costs," said CH Lee, COO of Super Talent. The upshot, according to Super Talent,... Read more...
Super Talent Ships new DDR3 VLP RDIMMVery Low Profile DDR3 Module Designed for ATCA, Embedded and Blade Server Applications San Jose, California - August 18, 2009 - Super Talent Technology, a leading manufacturer of Flash storage solutions and DRAM memory modules, today announced a very low profile (VLP) DDR3-1333 Registered DIMM designed for use in servers with compact and low-profile enclosures. This 2GB ECC registered module is only 0.72-inches tall, nearly half an inch shorter than standard height DDR3 modules. "We made this product for high density servers and embedded computers where space... Read more...
