Another month, another wave of new notebooks from HP. Today, the PC powerhouse has expanded their consumer and business lines with 11 new models, all of which utilize AMD's new VISION technology. That's an affordable line with plenty of punch for most people -- the A-series APU is a step above Fusion, and it's being used more and more frequently in smaller, lighter full-size notebooks. The HP Pavilion dv-series is seeing an across-the-board update, with the dv4, dv6 and dv7 getting CoolSense, True Vision HD webcam, and HP Beats Audio (on the dv6 and dv7 only). HP tells us that the DV-series offers... Read more...
HP's new consumer machines aren't the only ones being introduced today; the company is also revealing a few new business machines, but as is the case with other EliteBook and ProBook machines, these are also fully capable of doling out a little fun after-hours. The company has forged ahead with their FORGE design framework, by refreshing the ProBook m-series and EliteBook p-series models. The ProBook 5330m has been rumored, and it's now official. At under 1" thick, it features a dual-tone color scheme, brushed aluminum chassis, and a backlit keyboard. It's HP's first business notebook to offer... Read more...
Lenovo put forth the effort to introduce a number of new business-oriented notebooks earlier this week, and tonight HP is following suit. There are plenty of new laptops to consider this week, and if you were hoping to get away from HP without having to digest anything new, we have very, very bad news for you. The company's revamping their corporate and enterprise (C&E) and small and medium business (SMB) notebook PC lineup with new technology aimed at boosting performance and productivity, and just about every line known to man is seeing some sort of update. The HP EliteBook 8460p (14") and... Read more...
Intel just launched a new Atom processor today, but HP would rather talk about AMD. The company has introduced a new ProBook line of machines this morning, aimed at business users and consumers who prefer classic machines with little flair on the exterior. There's no doubt that the ProBook line is about as beautiful as a business notebook can get, and the new line starts at a reasonable $549. The new range is quite varied; users can opt for a Core i3, Core i5 and Core i7 CPU if they choose, but the multi-core AMD processors are stealing the show. On the GPU side, there's the option for integrated... Read more...
We're now in the second full month after CES, which means that PC companies are finally free to start really introducing bang-up products once again. As the Spring swings in and consumer dollars begin to flow, Hewlett-Packard is hoping to take advantage of the yearning for a new notebook. We assume as much, otherwise we have not a clue why they would introduce three new additions to the mobile portfolio.Starting first is the HP EliteBook 2740p, described as an ultra-thin, multitouch-enabled convertible tablet that provides an interactive experience for businesses in health care, education, sales... HP's "Mini" line of netbooks emerged quite some time ago, and while it has basically remained true to its roots, we're glad to see the line evolving somewhat to react to changes in demand. The Hewlett-Packard Mini 5101 is a more business-like machine, one's that classically styled and plenty powerful for the average business user. The 2.6lb. magnesium chassis is sturdy and should handle airport transfers just fine, while the 10.1" LED display boasts a WXVGA or HD resolution panel. Other specs include a six-cell battery, 7200RPM hard drive (or optional 80GB/128GB SSD), optional mobile broadband... Read more...
