It seems Google is on the acquisition warpath again, because the search giant has just snapped up another small unknown and imaginations are already running wild just thinking about the possibilities. The newest company to get swallowed up: Pittsburgh Pattern Recognition, or PittPatt. The company started at Carnegie Mellon University's Robotics Institute in the 1990s, and now it seems that Google is looking to them for a boost in their computer vision technology.
