We’ve heard from PengPod before, and we’ve seen that the company has tried to raise funds for its products via Indiegogo before. The company is back (and is renamed “PengPod” after its flagship product) with a new dual-booting tablet, the PengPod 1040. The PengPod 1040 is a 9.7-inch device that boasts a 2048x1536 IPS display and a quad-core 1GHz ARM Cortex-A7 processor with a Power VR SGX 544 GPU and 2GB of RAM, 16GB of onboard storage, and 2MP rear and 0.3MP front cameras. True, the Android operating system is based on Linux, but many dyed-in-the-wool Linux users would prefer a tablet running “real” Linux, which is exactly what Peacock Imports is trying to do with its line of PengPod Linux tablets. The short but sweet product lineup is intriguing and includes the 7-inch PengPod700 and 10-inch PengPod1000 tablets and PengStick mini PC on-a-stick.
