It seems like we've been waiting since the dawn of time for this one, but PCMark 7, Futuremark's latest benchmark for evaluating system performance in Windows 7, is now live and ready for download and/or purchase. As we've stated before, most users will likely opt for the free version, which offers unlimited benchmark runs of the main test, though there's an Advanced version ($40) that unlocks additional functionality, as well as a Professional edition ($995) for those with extra deep pockets and a serious hankering for benchmarking. Futuremark reached out to us today to let us know its upcoming PCMark 7 benchmark suite will be dropping into download queues later this week, and for reals this time. The new launch date is set for this Thursday, May 12th, at 12:00 GMT. Futuremark has been accepting pre-orders for PCMark 7 since March 22, 2011, and it was supposed to have been released on May 3, 2011 (last Tuesday). Futuremark feels your pain and just moments ago announced PCMark 7, the latest version of its PC performance analysis software.
